I am reviewing the 1 man and 2 man ladder stands I recently purchased from Fleet Farm. To start things off, I will start by saying I am about 50% satisfied. For the price I was hoping for more. Let's start off with the one man stand. Pretty easy to assemble. Only took about 45 minutes. Instructions were okay. I wish the print would have been bigger and they were a little more clearer. I had extra bolts left over, which is good, but I was missing one of the locking pins that hold the ladder pieces together. Once assembled this stand seems to be solid and will last awhile. Once the stand was in the tree, it was solid as a rock and did not make any noise or squeaks. The foot area is large and offers the ability to turn around without losing your footing.
The 2 man stand I was not impressed with at all. Some of the parts were bent and did not slide into each other very well. They were bent. I needed to smack a couple parts with a hammer to straighten them out. Instructions were a bit confusing and the diagrams were hard too see and read. Took me about 90 minutes to assemble. One major thing is that seat area and back rail comes already assembled and can only go on one way. It is such a tight stretch that the front edge of the seat lifts up 10 inches when you're not sitting it in. This could cause issues when you're standing for a shot and the seat is popping up. I called customer service and they offered no help really. Fleet Farm would not return it as it had already been assembled. The big one is, is this is not a real 2 man. There is no way 2 grown adults could fit in it. Maybe a smaller adult and a child, but in no way can 2 people over 200 pounds fit into it comfortably or be able to shoot properly with both people in it. I would suggest they call it a 1 1/2 man stand. However, once a big guy like me sits down it is pretty comfortable and is a great over sized stand for a guy like me. I would suggest other options if you are looking for a true 2 man stand though. This stand had enough room for me and a small back pack. In no way could another human fit next to me.
